The Art of Tai Chi Course

Feeling exhausted after a long 2008 and the busy festive period?

Then why not focus on yourself and learn the art of Tai Chi?

In January, The Barn House is luck enough to have Jamie Bloom, a successful London businessman, entrepreneur  and qualified Tai Chi teacher taking up residence at The Barn House.  He will not only teach Tai Chi but explain its’ benefits and how it changed his life for the better.

The combination of The Barn House and the expertise of Jamie makes this course a ‘must-have’, relaxing get-away from the hustle and bustle of everyday modern life.

The ancient Chinese art of Tai Chi moving meditation helps restore inner peace and harmony and is based on the Taoist understanding of two complementary forces of yielding and pushing – Yin and Yang.  With distinctive grace and flowing movements, Tai Chi is becoming an increasingly popular form of relaxation in the West, as it proves a successful antidote to the stresses of our competitive society.

Through the studies of Tai Chi many people find great benefits to their health and stress levels, when practiced it demonstrates the technique of yielding to the noise and pressure of everyday life.

Bloom says, “Bringing Tai Chi into my life has definitely improved it both personally and professionally.  My health has improved and my mind has gained a suppleness that brings with it palpable benefits”.

In Tai Chi as the body is trained to soften and stretch, so the mind follows suit, becoming more open and flexible.  When practiced as a martial art, Tai Chi’s exponents will soften to an attack and use the aggressor’s energy against him.  The same principle can be applied in other situations such as relationships or business life.  Tai Chi can defuse a stressful situation.

Tai Chi can also increase vitality and energy as well as lower your blood pressure.  Your balance and posture will also reap rewards.

Course runs from Thursday, 29 January to Tuesday, 3 February 2009.
